The building has a box-shaped south side with an additional wall. The gap between the wall and the building is a semi-exterior space, located between the southern garden and the building. We believe that this semi-external space creates a sense of distance between the interior and the road, and helps ensure privacy.

concept
The site has a road to the south, and privacy was mainly required for this aspect.
The building has a box-shaped south side with an additional wall. The gap between the wall and the building is a semi-exterior space, located between the southern garden and the building. We believe that this semi-external space creates a sense of distance between the interior and the road, leading to greater privacy. The block, which is the title of the project, quotes blocking privacy from the outside.
Inside, the space is connected from the LDK to the study room on the 2nd floor through a slit that utilizes the level difference of the floor on the 2nd floor. FIX glass and sliding doors are provided in the slits to control the thermal environment.
