house in Ikoma
Southeastern appearance: Designed to capture light while protecting privacy.
Southeastern exterior: The site is located in a quiet residential area. We plan to surround the courtyard and allow you to walk around in the corridors and slopes. Although it has a large opening, it cuts the line of sight from outside the site and expands the space in multiple directions.
Entrance porch: You will reach the entrance along the exposed concrete wall. The upper part of the entrance is overhanging so that the building doubles as an eaves.
We are gradually scaling down the approach that continues from the road to the size of a house.
Entrance: The entrance stile is made by stacking floor tiles. It connects the space while making a step on the floor.
It is a plan that you can go around around the courtyard on your right. Go up the stairs in front of you and reach the north wing from the corridor.
The large opening at the top of the living room is also designed so that it cannot be seen from the neighboring house.
The living room and dining room face each other across the courtyard.
Courtyard: The space is connected around the courtyard. The living room is on the right, the corridor is on the front, the balcony is on the top, and the dining room is on the left.
Japanese-style room: The vertical crosspieces of the shoji use the same size together with the frame, so you don't feel the difference between the two.
If you go up the stairs in the living room, you will find the study room on the mezzanine floor.
The study room on the mezzanine floor is connected to the living room through the atrium.
You can also go upstairs from the dining room to the spiral staircase. The kitchen is made to order.
